Ashley Etheredge, Principal Fellow

I earned a Bachelor of Music with a Concentration in K–12 Music Education from East Carolina University in 2013. Over the past 11 years, I have taught instrumental music to students in grades 6 through 8 and supported after-school tutoring and summer remediation programs.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have served in several leadership roles, including Exploratory House Chair and member of the School Improvement Team. I have also contributed to the School Interview Panel and presented at staff meetings. I’ve collaborated with colleagues to analyze local and state data, using that information to inform instruction and better serve our students.

Beyond the classroom, I led the softball program as Head Coach for four years, applying my leadership skills to support student-athletes. I am also dedicated to my family and enjoy spending quality time with my husband, Stephen, and our two children, Logan and Kylie.

Two quotes that resonate deeply with me are:
"Turn your obstacles into opportunities and your problems into possibilities." — Roy T. Bennett
"A good teacher will lead the horse to water, an excellent teacher will make the horse thirsty first." — Mario Cortes
